One thing that we did this week was a Socratic Seminar. In the past I have participated in different ones over the coarse of my 9th grade year. In the beginning of the year we had one each week. We would get a text that we had to read and then discuss as a class what we though about it.
How did what you learned and did this week EXTEND or push your thinking in new directions? Something that really got me thinking was having to decode poems and look for sensory images. For me writing is hard so having analyse the poem and then thinking of ways to better my poem was hard.
What is still CHALLENGING or confusing for you about what you learned and worked on this week? (give SPECIFIC examples) Something that is still challenging to me is the annotation because when we were annotating the first chapter of The absolutely True Diary of a Part Time Indian, I didn't know if I was highlighting the right thing or if it was what the question was asking.
